Watch Bruno Mars' "That's What I Like" Video

Bruno Mars has just dropped the new video for "That's What I Like" from his recently released album, 24k Magic. Surprisingly, perhaps (given the man's incredible success) the song is his first number one track on the Hot R&B Songs Billboard chart.
On Wednesday the singer started teasing his social media followers, saying that he has "something awesome" to unveil in the coming days. Initially he denied it was a new video to accompany the song, but he later confirmed that the awesomeness was in form of a new video. "Just finished shootin' it! I'm gonna edit it, take a bubble bath & then we party" he said, on Twitter "Gimme 2 hours! Let the count down begin #TWIL."
Jonathan Lia directed the video, along with Bruno Mars, and the results are as bold as anything we've seen from the artist in the past — but now with some fresh twists. This outing we don't see Bruno with his crew — instead support come from sharply-drawn line animations that float around as he dances. The images reflecting the lyrical content… "I got a condo in Manhattan," he sings, striking a leaning dance pose and the illustrated visuals follow suit.
While dancing alone in a pretty simple backdrop — unlike recent opulent videos — Mars is accompanied by all the trappings of wealth and success that we associate with the man. Champagne glasses, Cadillac wheels, Paris landmarks, diamonds — all appear as referenced in the song… oh, and dancers to appear, but they're drawn in as animation too.
Like pretty much everything Bruno Mars delivers, the video is set on 'dance' and 'good times' and he makes a compelling point to get up on your feet. His sense of precision and fun is at the forefront of the video — and at 3.5 million views on YouTube in just the first few hours, it seems like the people are having a good time.
In July, the singer embarks on the North American leg of his 24K Magic World Tour — we're hoping he has time for some bubble baths along the way.
