Foo Fighters man Dave Grohl joined rap/metal supergroup the Prophets of Rage on stage at the Forum in Inglewood on Thursday night for a cover of the MC5 classic "Kick Out the Jams."

The band, featuring three quarters of Rage Against the Machine, plus Chuck D of Public Enemy and B-Real of Cypress Hill, has been getting excellent reviews since the release of the debut EP The Party's Over in August, and the commencement of the "Make America Rage Again" tour. Rage Against the Machine, Public Enemy and Cypress Hill songs are naturally included in the set, but this is only the second time the band has played the MC5 proto-punk anthem.

The OC Register reported that, "With only two songs left in the set, the band surprised its hometown audience by bringing out Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl for a mighty cover of MC5's 'Kick Out the Jams' that presented the opportunity to witness two stellar guitar players battle it out as Grohl and Morello did not hold back."

"Kick Out the Jams" has been covered on numerous occasions, notably by Rage Against the Machine on the Renegades album, but also by Bad Brains with Henry Rollins, Michael Monroe, Monster Magnet, Afrika Bambaataa, Guitar Wolf, and the Blue Oyster Cult.
