An animated lyric video for David Bowie's "I Can't Give Everything Away" debuted today. "I Can't Give Everything Away," is the third single to be culled from the late singer-songwriter's final record released in his lifetime, ★ (Blackstar). The video was created by the album's designer, Jonathan Barnbrook.

The press release describes Barnbrook as someone who, "played an integral role in the album's visual identity and presentation." Barnbrook began his creative relationship with David Bowie when he designed 2002's Heathen cover. He designed the covers to 2003's Reality and 2013's The Next Day as well as the graphics for the V&A touring exhibition David Bowie is.

Barnbrook said, "This is really a very simple little video that I wanted to be ultimately positive. We start off in black and white world of ★, but in the final chorus we move to brilliant color, I saw it as a celebration of David, to say that despite the adversity we face, the difficult things that happen such as David's passing, that human beings are naturally positive, they look forward and can take the good from the past and use it as something to help with the present. We are a naturally optimistic species and we celebrate the good that we are given."

Last week, a pair of David Bowie tribute shows took place in New York's Carnegie Hall and Radio City Music Hall. The shows featured an eclectic array of musicians including the Pixies, Cat Power, Blondie, The Roots, The Mountain Goats, The Flaming Lips, Patti Smith, and Laurie Anderson. Michael Stipe offered a preview of the sold-out shows with a cover of "The Man Who Sold The World" on The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon.
