Ben Folds played Los Angeles' Orpheum Theatre last night, and brought Kesha on stage during the encore. The duo was supposed to play together at Sunday's Billboard Music Awards, but Dr. Luke's Kemosabe Records "rescinded its approval" of the performance. Kesha and Folds played Bob Dylan's "It Ain't Me Babe," as well as a few Folds classics, "Still Fighting It" and "Rock This B****," which also incorporated pieces of Kesha's "Sleezy."

On Wednesday, Dick Clark Productions released a statement about Kesha's performance at the BBMAs saying, "Kesha accepted an invitation to perform on the show and she received written approval from Dr. Luke's record label, Kemosabe Records.Kemosabe subsequently rescinded its approval following a media report on Wednesday May 11 regarding Kesha's appearance on the BBMAs. Unfortunately, Kesha and Kemosabe have since been unable to come to an agreement for Kesha to perform on the show."

After Kesha's performance with Ben Folds she posted a thank you on Instagram, "dear Mr. ben folds, thank u for tonight. thanks for letting me share your stage, your band, your audience, your humor, your songs. thanks for believing in me. thanks for being a positive and encouraging human in my life. thanks for ur records that got me through high school. thanks for being a genius composer. thanks for being nice when we work together. thanks for letting me play a Bob Dylan cover with you. thanKs for being a good friend in this scary business. and lastly. thanks for cleaning my wine glass with ur old man panties. ur an A class gentleman. love you f***er❤️@murkanpianist"
