Watch The Wild Northern's video for "The Demarcation" today! It's lumberjack rock and we're feeling it.
The Wild Northern are lead by singer/songwriter Roland Eckstein and lead guitarist Brian Gallagher. The rest of the band is comprised of Jim Abdon on bass and Andy Guirini on drums. The Wild Northern, or TWN as dubbed by their fanbase, are a "blend of Folk Rock rhythms, Southern Rock inspired leads, and soaring vocal harmonies" and their goal is to "bring folk & southern rock roots back into the pop music fold."
Some history lessons: Roland and Brian met at Fairfield University while performing together as part of the university's premier cover band. They could be found rocking local pubs and restaurants for their classmates night after night. After graduation, TWN began playing as an acoustic duo at venues from Massachusetts to New Jersey opening for bands such as Badfish and moe. along the way. Following their winter performances, the two teamed up with Jim and Andy in order to fully realize the potential of their music.
Following the release of their debut EP The Line of Demarcation in the summer of 2011, the band has continued to tour the North East drawing old and new fans of their self-described "Lumberjack Rock." Most recently, in collaboration with Companion Pictures, the group released a music video for their single "The Demarcation" created from their Sept. 16 performance at New York City's Sullivan Hall.
On Saturday, Nov. 19, The Wild Northern will be returning to Sullivan Hall as the headlining act where they will be playing a two hour set starting at 11:30. They plan to debut a few never before heard songs alongside the tracks that many fans have come to know and love. If you're a fan be there.
