Earlier this week, Nicki Minaj and Keith Urban were announced as new judges on American Idol, joining Mariah Carey. Jennifer Lopez and Steven Tyler are long gone and a new panel has been installed.
Now that the dust has settled and you've processed the information, tell us what you think of Minaj and Urban taking these roles.
Carey brings the diva to the panel, but so does Minaj. And there really can only be room for one diva on the panel. Carey also has way more experience, but Minaj is young and hip, and attracts that type of audience, so she certainly brings a lot to the (judge's) table. She also has enjoyed massive success with millennials, so it makes sense to have her! Welcome, Nicki.
The show 's country winners have been the biggest - Carrie Underwood and Scotty McCreery both went on to huge, legit careers after their big wins, with non-winner Kellie Pickler doing pretty well for herself, too. So having Keith Urban, a country megastar, on the panel is wise, as well.
