Three reasons we still care about the singer!
What is Nathan Sykes, formerly of U.K. boy band The Wanted up to?
We are glad you asked, since we know what his deal is.
Sykes is still doing his thing with that amazing voice of his. The singer has embarked on a solo career while The Wanted are on an indefinite hiatus, which means they are likely broken up after "Glad You Came" was one of the biggest dance pop smashes of the decade.
Sykes stopped by iHeartRadio's studios in New York City and chatted with Paul Costabile about his departure from The Wanted and what its like being out there on his own. He also spoke about how he's shifting his style to a more soul x jazz blend and, well, old school style.
Sykes talked about going from 20 percent input to 100 percent input when it comes to his music while on his own.
We did not realize how soulful Lil' Nath was until now!
Going from a multi-member boy band to a solo act is not easy; it's like being a standup comic. You have no backup, just yourself. But you know what? Nathan Sykes has the chops and is making that shiz look easy.
Check out some of the highlights of his iHeartRadio chat below.
And here are three reasons we still care about Nathan Sykes, besides the fact that you can't help but love him. He has the best eyes and is way, way cute.
He had the best voice in The Wanted. We love Tom and Max and Siva and Jay, who were his mates, but it was Nathan Sykes with the best, most standout voice.
Now that his ex Ariana Grande is single after splitting with rapper Big Sean, we hope she and Nathan reunite and do a duet. We are "Nariana" shippers. Their "Almost Is Never Enough" duet was flawless and was how they fell in love and exhibited chemistry! Remember how they only had eyes for each other when performing it on TV? Swoon!
He is such a cutie and his style is so fresh—it's soulful and passionate. Think Sam Smith x Donny Hathaway x Michael Buble.
Nathan Sykes is back. Yay!
