Will Johnson has been called "one of the hardest-working people in indie rock" by NPR. Others may know him as the drummer of indie-rock super group, Monsters of Folk, where he plays alongside Jim James, Conor Oberst, M. Ward and Mike Mogis. But beyond all that, Will Johnson is an outstanding singer songwriter responsible for maintaining an ethereal lo fi approach to craft - the results of which can be clearly felt on his Record Store Day 7" "Inclined" that is in contention for a 2017 GRAMMY aware for Best American Roots Performance.
The home-recorded new song from Johnson, is the hauntingly beautiful "Nervousness Fangs", released Misra Records, who has also released music from his other various projects like Centro-matic and South San Gabriel.
Will is also hitting the road for a run of tour dates before the year is up, so ARTISTdirect leapt at the opportunity to speak with Will before he disappeared on the highways of America, asking the singer songwriter to offer some insight and introduce the thoughts and process behind the new single.
