Will Roush just released his debut single "Live It Up," which is produced by and features Chaz Mishan of The Fliptones. I was hipped to Roush by a savvy PR agent, who sent me the song, which is a loose but upbeat, top-down dance jam that is polished to pop perfection. It'll embed itself into your skull within the first :60 seconds. Check it out here.

Roush, who burst onto the music scene with last year's acclaimed mixtape Know My Name, presented by DJ Skee and DJ Whoo Kid, is unleashing this inspirational anthem onto the world and the song perfectly fits his personality and style. Due to a lifelong battle with Super Ventricular Taphnocardio (SVT), a rare heart condition, and a recent weight loss of almost 100 lbs, Roush infuses his lyrics with a positivity and energy that comes from a place of struggle, and more importantly, survival. Roush is a senior at Babson College in Boston, but he started making music in high school when he met a friend who produced beats. After all, it's always about the beats. Roush improved his skills over the course of the next few months and eventually connected with mentor Matt Schiltz, which led to Roush recording songs with artists and producers like Jason Derülo, The Fliptones, JR Rotem, Young Buck and Stat Quo.

Check out "Live It Up" at iTunes ASAP, too.

Are you digging Will Roush and his single?
