The Associated Press reports that Will Smith is donating replacements for 30 stolen computers to a high school in West Philadelphia, where he was born and raised. In West Philadelphia, born and raised, to quote the opening lyrics from The Fresh Prince of Bel Air credits.
The Will and Jada Smith Family Foundation and the Charlie Mack Cares philanthropic organizations are giving 29 Apple laptops and one desktop to West Philadelphia High School! 39 Apple laptops? That is very generous of the Pinkett-Smiths. I love that Will Smith never forgot Philly, unlike his fellow Philly-to-LA transplant, LA Laker player Kobe Bryant. I am bitter, since I am from right outside of the City of Brotherly Love.
Smith is unable to deliver the computers himself, but that ain't no thang! His donation is appreciated.
Two students have been charged with stealing 60 computers from the school last month. Police recovered half of them, but the rest remain unaccounted for.
