CartWillie Nelson Set for Global Green Pre-Oscar Party

Well-known for his commitment to a green lifestyle, author, actor and pot activist Willie Nelson will perform for the greener good as headliner of Global Green USA's 10th Annual Pre-Oscar Party. Nelson will also be joined by his sons Lukas and Micah. The event will take place on Wednesday, February 20, at Avalon Hollywood (1735 Vine Street, Los Angeles, CA 90028).
Nelson is all about the green stuff, as in the herb, but this is a different kind of "green" party. It's environmentally-minded.
Hollywood's elite activists and green-minded celebrities will enjoy a night of eco-friendly entertainment, including a VIP cocktail reception, and Patron dinner & program - including a special musical performance by Warner Bros. recording artist LP - followed by KCRW's DJ Garth Trinidad, and culminating with Nelson's headline performance. Additional celebrities including Emmy Rossum, Ed O'Neill, Dylan McDermott, Sophia Bush, Adrian Grenier, Ed Begley, Jr., Moby, Michelle Branch, Catt Sadler, Shanola Hampton, Angela Lindvall, Walton Goggins and many others are expected to attend.
"Willie Nelson is a resolute activist for the cause, and we could not be more thrilled to have him on board for this year's Pre-Oscar Party," said Global Green USA CEO Matt Petersen. Nelson's ranch in Austin is solar-powered, and he also produces his own blend of biodiesel fuel. For the past decade, Global Green USA has collaborated with the Hollywood community to raise global awareness for smart climate solutions.
Proceeds from the evening will benefit Global Green USA's work to build greener, more resilient homes, schools, and communities in areas devastated by Hurricane Sandy.
