Wiz Khalifa’s “See You Again” Beats Psy’s “Gangnam Style” As Most-Viewed YouTube Video

Back in 2014 Psy's uber-viral video for his song "Gangnam Style" became so popular, reaching over two billion views, YouTube had to upgrade its view counter from a 32-bit integer to a 64-bit integer. Since then a handful of other videos have also surpassed the two billion view mark.
Mark Ronson's "Uptown Funk" featuring Bruno Mars, Justin Bieber's "I'm Sorry" and Luis Fonsi's "Despacito" have all been hot on the heels of the ridiculous standard for consumption that Psy set with his mesmerizing pop-culture visuals.
However, there's a new kid on the block, and it's passed all other artists and achieved the seemingly impossible. Currently, with more than 2,909,814,516 views, Wiz Khalifa's "See You Again" featuring Charlie Puth just became the most-viewed YouTube video of all time.
Commissioned for the soundtrack of 2015's Furious 7, the seventh film in one of the most popular movie franchises in cinema history, the song "See You Again" serves as a tribute for the late actor Paul Walker — star of the early movies. Scenes from Walker's appearances in the movies appear in the video, along with other moments from the movies.
Luis Fonsi's "Despacito" already has more than 2,485,501,000 views, and the video was just released this year, so it seems like Khalifa's throne may soon be toppled, but the insane viewing figures are sure to keeping a smile on his face, at least for now.
