CartWiz Khalifa Talks What He's Listening To and What He Wants for Christmas

"It's all about the tour and the album," exclaims Wiz Khalifa.
Right now, he's grinding hard on the "2050" tour, his biggest yet, and he's preparing to drop one of the year's most important hip hop records, O.N.I.F.C.. Consistently, he's managed to up the ante across the board, bringing mind-blowing production on the road and then dropping some of his fieriest tracks yet like "Remember You" [Featuring The Weeknd]. He's raising the bar and setting trends like any true icon would.
In this exclusive interview, ARTISTdirect.com editor in chief Rick Florino spoke to Wiz Khalifa about juggling everything, what he's listening to right now, and what he wants for Christmas.
How do you manage to balance everything?
You've got to have it all working in one time. The time and focus goes certain ways at certain times, and then you switch it up.
Who's on your playlist right now?
I've been listening to Juicy J, old Wu-Tang Clan, old Mobb Deep, old Outkast. I like Kendrick Lamar and the whole TDE crew. I like all of those guys. I dig French Montana and Rick Ross. I like everything. I listen to a lot of rock 'n' roll too. We could talk about it all day! Mumford & Sons is one of my favorite newer bands. Well, they're not that new [Laughs]. Their new album is pretty tight. On the R&B tip, Miguel's album is tight too.
Do you have a favorite Christmas memory? What do you want this year?
[Laughs] All of my Christmas's go together. I just want everybody to be happy for Christmas. That's it! My record comes out before. They can go out and get O.N.I.F.C. that will make them happy.
