Record Store Day is a big event in the world of independent music retailers, and no, we don't mean Best Buy when we say music retailer. To commemorate the occasion of celebrating the indie music landscape, Brit poppers Blur will release their first new song since 2003 (!!!) as part of Record Store Day, which is Saturday, April 17. The reunited band is issuing a seven-inch single for a currently unannounced song, which will be limited to only 1,000 copies. So take that, all you illegal downloaders! Many bands will be putting out limited edition vinyl on Record Store Day, so collectors and true music fans should take this chance to stock up on plenty of special wares!
Blur's Damon Albarn told The Sun, "We want independent record stores to continue, they're an important part of our musical culture. Music is a simple way for Blur to show our support and we hope people like it."
Will you be heading to your local Mom and Pop record store next Saturday to pick up some rare treats that aren't downloadable?
