Wordless Music Series Relaunches For Spring, Summer

The New York City-based Wordless Music Series expands to Portland and Minneapolis this weekend with shows from Stars of the Lid, Christopher Willits, Eluvium, and the Third Angle New Music Ensemble. As for gigs back home, Deerhoof has signed on for a special performance at Brooklyn's Prospect Park Bandshell (featuring a live "Rites of Spring" remix by their opening act, Metropolis Ensemble) and the Whitney Museum has agreed to host four straight Fridays of music from Prefuse 73, Times New Viking, and more.

True to the traditional Wordless setup, all of the above will feature a mix of modern indie music and classical pieces from such composers as John Adams, Arvo Pärt, and Dimitri Shostakovich.

For more info on what Wordless is all about, check out http://www.wordlessmusic.org/schedule.html.
