WRFTC Announces Annual Retreat

Going on its fourth consecutive year, Women Rock for the Cure™ (WRFTC) has confirmed the 2014 date for their annual Young Survivors Retreat, a weekend retreat aimed to connect young women survivors and those fighting breast cancer to stand together in their journey.
That's a cause we CAN ALWAYS, ALWAYS get down with.
The four-day, impactful event will be held October 30 through November 2 at Deer Run Retreat Center, located just outside of Nashville (3845 Perkins Road Thompson's Station, TN 37179). The all-expense paid experience is open to approximately 20 women currently undergoing treatment or survivors of breast cancer who have been diagnosed between the ages of 18-40 years.
Approximately five percent of breast cancers occur in women under the age of 40. These women – college students, young professionals, new moms – often struggle with finding support and education due to the rarity of this diagnosis at a young age. While friends are launching their careers and starting families, surviving is suddenly the new priority. WRFTC developed the Young Survivors Retreat as a way for these women to connect and help support each other in their healing process with peers who can relate.
Jensen Sussman, WRFTC CEO, shares her personal experience with the retreat, "Having to face breast cancer as a young woman is physically, emotionally and mentally challenging. For WRFTC to bring together these women from all across the country who share in the same struggles and see how their connection forms a sisterhood of hope is inspiring."
Survivors and those touched by breast cancer, can you support this initiative and spread the word?
