WU LYF "Go Tell Fire to the Mountain" Album Review — 5 out of 5 stars - By ARTISTdirect.com writer Oliver Davies… [an error occurred while processing this directive]

The intensity of WU LYF's music may very well be completely unmatched. The Manchester, UK band creates a mysterious, yet incredibly intriguing persona around themselves through ambiguous lyrics, cult-like ties, and heart-stopping instrumentals.

Their debut album, Go Tell Fire To the Mountain, feels as if it were sent from the gods. The sound that the band creates is so powerful that it's inspiring. Unequivocally powerful and primal, it makes you want to lead a revolution or burn all of your money and live in the wilderness. The lyrics may be incomprehensible at first listen, but that doesn't interfere at all with the power of each song.

The screaming vocals resound with passion, longing to be heard and demanding an answer. Deep, swelling organs and echoing guitars create an anthemic sound, while booming, crashing drums amplify the intensity. At times, the entire band shouts together, producing a very real sense of community and purpose, as they yell wishful tributes to youth. They're almost less like their contemporaries and more like the cast of Centurion.

Continuing along that tip, Wu Lyf's music videos are also awe-inspiring. Aesthetically, they're beautiful, and they perfectly depict each song, adding to the power of their message. They're wielding a lot more than just Fire here…
