Haitian-American superstar Wyclef Jean, 37, has confirmed the rampant rumors that he will indeed run for President of Haiti in this year's November 28 election. "If not for the earthquake, I probably would have waited another 10 years before doing this," Jean said. "If I can't take five years out to serve my country as President…then everything I've been singing about, like equal rights, doesn't mean anything." Jean may announce his candidacy on Larry King Live tonight, once he has arrived in Port-au-Prince from New York. Jean told People that "the suffering of the people of Haiti, the youth of Haiti – which is the majority of the population – can't take another five years of the corruption that's been going on for the past 200 years. This is why I'm running." What a noble man.
Would you vote for ‘Clef if you were a Haitian? Is the singer truly qualified to run a country?
