"X Factor" Finalists Signing With Sony
Mon, 31 Dec 2012 08:35:31
Several of the X Factor finalists that did not win the show and it's $5 million prize are signing with Sony. So they didn't win, but they won... in another way, at least.
Country singer Tate Stevens won the title on the show, so he automatically got a deal with Sony.
Sources say that Carly Rose Sonenclar, who placed second under Britney Spears' mentorship; assembled girl group Fifth Harmony, who placed third under Simon Cowell's tutelage; and assembled boy band Emblem3, who came in fourth place, also under Cowell, are also getting deals with Sony Music. The official announcements will be made in early 2013.
Stevens, Sonenclar, Fifth Harmony and Emblem3 will be signed to Syco Music, Cowell's label. Syco will then partner with a Sony label –either Epic Records or Columbia Records- to market and promote the releases.
Congrats to the winners! Yes, winners, plural!
Did you watch X Factor's second season? Did you like any of the finalists?
