Fast-rising rapper YelaWolf has announced that he will release his upcoming full-length studio album, Radioactive, on Oct. 25, 2011, via Ghet-O-Vision/Shady Records/DGC/Interscope. Bring it, Yela.
"Radioactive is the fall out of my life's inspirations, a testament to my ability to survive it all and to tell the story," said Yelawolf in a statement. "Sometimes I want to party, sometimes I want to fight and sometimes I want to cry. I'm human and this album is as honest as it gets." That's a range of human emotions, for sure.
The first single from Radioactive is "Hard White (Up in the Club)," featuring Lil Jon and produced by Hydrox; it is currently available via all digital retailers. Hyrdox? Remember the brand of cookies? They were generic Oreos and they were called Hydrox.
Radioactive is the Alabama-born rapper's first album after the partnering of Ghet-O-Vision Entertainment and the Eminem-led Shady Records. The album, which finds Yelawolf working with such producers as SupaHotBeats, Justice League, The Audibles, and Diplo, follows Yelawolf's critically acclaimed Trunk Muzik 0-60 (Ghet-O-Vision/DGC/Interscope) — a 2010 compilation of tracks from his Trunk Muzik mixtape along with previously unavailable recordings.
"We are very eager for the world to hear Radioactive and proud to be presenting the album on Shady Records," said Eminem. "Yelawolf is a true original and he has crafted an incredible record." That's a huge endorsement for Yelawolf and it's straight from Em's mouth.
Yelawolf has just completed a successful run of dates on The Vans Warped Tour as well as a string of European shows with the Wu-Tang Clan.
