Reuters reports that John Lennon's widow Yoko Ono will again oppose the release of Mark David Chapman, the man who killed her husband nearly 30 years ago. Chapman is up for parole again next month, and Ono has consistently been vocal about her opposition to his release. She sent a letter to the parole board to state that her position on the matter has not changed and really, why should it?

Lennon was shot to death on December 8, 1980, outside the famed Dakota apartment building just west of Central Park as he and Ono returned home from a recording session. Chapman is now 55 and he is serving a 20-years-to-life sentenced for shooting Lennon in cold blood. His sixth bid for parole will occur the week of August 9.

Did you ever waste two hours of your life watching Chapter 27, the-more-awful-than-an-NYU-student-film movie featuring a bulked up Jared Leto as Chapman and Lindsay Lohan in an unremarkable bit part? It was awful with a capital "A."
