Check out JimmyO's exclusive video interview with Zac Efron!
Zac Efron appeared early on in his career in a very touching TV movie called Miracle Run. He played a teenager with autism. It was a fantastic performance, yet it wasn’t until he took to dancing and singing in High School Musical that he found major stardom.
While Zac enjoyed a certain amount of fame with the ‘HSM’ franchise, he has continued to grow as an actor. In the surprisingly funny 17 Again, Zac played opposite Leslie Mann and Thomas Lennon and certainly knew how to show us the funny. In fact, since the Burr Steers directed feature, he has grown up a little. From the smart Me and Orson Welles to the upcoming Charlie St. Cloud (also directed by Steers), Efron seems to be on his way to becoming a major force in Hollywood. At the Junket for Charlie, he and fellow cast members Amanda Crew and Charlie Tahan spoke about boating and the fun and fear that came with it. While Steers talked about the film and working with Efron, it was clear that the Efron has earned more than a little respect from his peers.
While the movie has a very sad and heartbreaking element, it never gets too dark as it delves into St. Cloud’s loss and his ability to move on. This is a wonderful role for Efron who has come a long way since ‘High School’.
