In between reunion tours and defending himself against Ann Coulter (watch her stand up for her buddy Bush here), Billboard.com has today reported that Zack de la Rocha, frontman of Rage Against the Machine, has finished work on a solo album, reportedly years in the making. Though still unsigned at the moment, de la Rocha is in talks with industry players to determine how the album will be released.

Plans for his solo project were first announced after the initial collapse of Rage back in 2000. There's no word as to whether his rumored collaborations with DJ Shadow and Trent Reznor will show up on the as-yet-untitled project. Extensive collaboration with former Mars Volta drummer Jon Theodore has, however, been confirmed. De la Rocha is said to contribute keyboard work on the album Billboard describes as a mix of Dr. Dre and Led Zeppelin. Hmm, that sounds familiar. We could swear that we heard something like that at this year's Coachella.
