Actress Zooey Deschanel and indie rock hubby, Death Cab for Cutie singer Ben Gibbard, are officially divorced. Over. Dunzo. Finito. Finished. Split. Not officially married.
According to the divorce papers, the couple split because of "unhappy and irreconcilable differences have arisen between the parties, which have caused the irremediable breakdown of their marriage. There is no possibility that counseling … or mediation could save the marriage."
So it was seriously over and nothing could have fixed the broken union.
Neither has spoken much about the breakup. She said that "we're friendly, it's all fine" after the filing. Which was nice.
