Nov 11, 2005, 11:43 AM by I Hate Your Commercial

Pontiacs sleek sexy new cars whiz by in blurry flashes of red, pink and yellow.
The Song: "Don’t Save Us From the Flames"
The Artist: M83

M83 is essentially the brainchild of Anthony Gonzalez, who resides in the seaside town of Antibes, France. Big green words tell you what a man who wears Mitchum deodorant is like... a manly man basically.
The Song: "I Woke Up This Mornin'"
The Artist: The Mooney Suzuki

Best known for doing the theme song to the Jack Black comedy School of Rock, The Mooney Suzuki are four rock 'n' roll hooligans from New York City whose raucous, MC5-inspired sound and tough-guy, leather-jacket look epitomize the neo-garage revival of classic, '60s-style RAWK.

The Muppets Sell Soda
Aug 02, 2005, 09:47 AM by I Hate Your Commercial
The Commercial: "Diet Cherry Vanilla Dr. Pepper"

A girl is on a date at a restaurant and after she starts drinking her Diet Cherry Vanilla Dr. Pepper, all she can hear is the "Mahna Mahna" song... and everyone she sees, including her date, is singing along.
The Song: "Mahna Mahna/Lullaby of Birdland"
The Band: The Muppets (feat. Mahna Mahna & The Two Snowths)

We all know who the muppets are...created by puppet pioneer Jim Henson and hosted by a showbiz-savvy frog named Kermit. But who exactly is Mahna Mahna & The Two Snowths?! They appeared on The Muppet Show in 1976 (episode 17 of the 1st season). It was a wonderfully bizarre and random skit that also featured perennial favorites, Statler and Waldorf (the two old guys in the balcony that heckle every peformance).

Have Land Rover, Will Travel
Jul 29, 2005, 05:20 PM by Johnny Sellout
The Commercial: "The entirely new Land Rover LR3"

A series of commercials in which the sleek new LR3 is seen racing across the desert, cruising around the city, and most memorably, splitting into twos and threes every time it hits a fork in the road.
The Song: "Have Love Will Travel"
The Band: The Sonics

Back in the '60s, the Pacific Northwest played host to a garage rock explosion that rivaled the grunge craze of the early '90s, and this Tacoma, Washington quintet was at the forefront of it. Although they're largely forgotten today, their raucous, bluesy sound has influenced dozens of bands since, from rootsier grunge acts like Mudhoney to latter-day primitives like The Black Keys, who do their own version of "Have Love Will Travel."

Volkswagen Rocks Out
Jul 26, 2005, 03:49 PM by Johnny Sellout
The Commercial: "The new Jetta....It's all grown up....Sort of."

A cute young couple disturbs the downstairs neighbor by jumping around and playing loud music. Then they move into a house, where they can jump around and play loud music without (presumably) disturbing anyone.
The Song: "Molly's Chambers"
The Band: Kings of Leon

Three sons of a preacher and their cousin, all from Tennessee, make raucous Southern rock that calls to mind the Black Crowes and The Who in equal measure. And they probably wouldn't be caught dead driving a Jetta.
