The Golden Starlets

With a line-up that consists of Ms. C, Janet Planet, Nikki P, Cheryl, Can't Stop, and Nathan Rockstar, this Newcastle six-piece are otherwise known as the Golden Starlets. With their trademark noisy guitar settings and tribal drum leads, comparisons to the likes of Huggy Bear, the Ronettes, and the Ramones resulted as they self-released a handful of demos compilation contributions and a seven-inch EP. However, by 1999 the Golden Starlets called it quits with members moving onto form the International Strike Force. Paroxysm Records eventually paid their tribute by releasing a discography compilation entitled Token Gadgy in 1999. ~ Mike DaRonco, All Music Guide
