Ether Park Biography

Singer/songwriter Susan Bachner creates alternate pop influenced by people like Elvis Costello, Nick Lowe, and the Jam, with a blues edge. Al Katkowsky contributes to the unique sound with powerful and creative guitar work. A tight rhythm section completes the sound.

Without a record deal, or hired promotion, Ether Park's debut single ( "Willing to Lose" b/w "Trying") gained widespread college airplay. It charted in CMJ with colleges in both the U.S. and Canada, and made top 30, top 20, and top 10 lists at several schools.

That success was followed up with the release of a holiday CD, "Ether Park and Friends Visit the Island of Misfit Toys" , an E.P. of unique alternative covers of tunes from old holiday T.V. shows.

The band plays regularly in New York, and has appeared at several music conferences and festivals, including the Philadelphia Music Conference, the Digital Club Fest, and New York's Viper Ball, a St. Patrick's Day event. Recently they entered the finals of the Murphy's Beer Band Challenge.

Ether Park has recieved good press from a variety of 'zines and music papers in various parts of the country.

Geoff Wilbur's Renegade Newsletter ( Industry Edition) said:"Ether Park delivers female-fronted, guitar driven radio friendly mainstream alternative rock...hooks had me singing along with the choruses by just the third listen."

Cake Magazine said:" Crafty, confident, and more than a little clever pop music...This is smart work. Is Top-40 radio ready for Ether Park? Probably not, but you should be."

Crash Zero E-zine said:" In a world of alternative clutter that has lost its direction, its refreshing to hear something totally new."
