Jamii Szmadzinski Biography
Breaking down the traditional barriers between rock, classical, and new-age music, Jamii Szmadzinski creates an exciting musical paradigm - rich, emotive, electric and intense. Jamii's "new-world" music is at once unique and provocative.
Jamii has performed and / or recorded with a veritable "Who's Who" of the music world, including: Windham Hill's Grammy-award winning Shadowfax, Chick Corea, Alex DeGrassi, George Winston, Michael Hedges, Liz Story, Spyro Gyra, Wynton Marsalis, 5440, David Lee and the Los Angeles Modern String Orchestra. The depth of Jamii's arrangements, combined with his virtuoso talent create the experience of a "one-man" eclectic symphony.
Most recently, Jamii has been touring and performing with the west-coast rock group, Human Drama, in support of their latest album, 14,384 Days Later, a Triple X release featuring many of Jamii's most extraordinary skills.
Recently, Jamii has joined Seraph in releasing a compilation of his music produced during Jamii's Asian tours. Entitled "The Angels of Atman," Jamii's new disc features music that varies from the singing strings of a "Prayer" to the jubilant tones found "Under the Banyon." From sweet and melancholy to richly warm and energetic, the beauty of Jamii's performance is always present.
On stage, Jamii's enthusiasm for his art is infectious. He draws the audience into a nexus of sound, movement and emotion, carrying each listener to a new world of feeling, a new plateau of experience to enjoy, and new lands to revel in.
