King Lizzard Biography
In 1997, upon arriving in las Vegas from Hollywood, K.L. Lizzard formed a synth-pop trio called ANTI-M. The group, consisting of Lizzard on Keyboards and Rhythm Machine, Candy Streickland on Bass and Nigel B. Goode, on vocals, recorded "We're Not in Kansas Anymore..." which was put in limited release.
In 1998 Lizzard expanded on the techno-synth scene by forming LIVING KARMA with vocalist/powerhouse Misty Bennetts, Mark Maynard and Rick Bell, turning out the neo-classical techno-pop hit "I'm Falling" from their CD, "The Sin City Symphony." This incarnation played the Imperial Palace.
LIVING KARMA did a few minor line-up changes and one major change, which consisted of Marcey Snow on vocals and keyboards, Lizzard on guitars, Allan Niles on bass and Tommy Gamliel on drums. A decidedly harder sound, this incarnation played Caesar's Palace.
Late in 1999, Lizzard reunited with Misty Bennetts and the two, with bassist Niles and new keyboardist Mike Dowe, performed at the Boston and were preparing to record a new CD.
Living Karma played it's last show November 2, 1999, Misty Bennetts departed for a second and final time, and Lizzard took Niles and Dowe and reformed as King Lizzard's Hearts of Darkness Band, with a loud, fierce, furious brand of symphonic rock.
Their debut CD, "The Other Side of Paradise" was released Christmas Day, 1999. An EP, "Songs From the 4th Dementia" with Nick Danger on vocals was released in 2000. In June 2001, "Beyond Forever:The Best of King Lizzard" was released.
KLHOD Band has played at Legends Lounge, Cheyenne Club, the Boston, the Tongue 'n' Groove and Olympic Garden Lounges in Las Vegas.
Lizzard comments that "It's a bombastic, symphonic brand of heavy metal we churn out, much the same as Beethoven would write if he were alive today."
