Hani Naser Biography
Hani Naser
Born in Jordan, Hani had spent many days as a child with his grandfather, who was the
village poet. They would go together, high up into the mountains all the while listening to
stories, poetry, songs, and the Rababa, which is an ancient stringed instrument, a
predecessor to our violin. At a very young age Hani and his family sailed the open seas to
America. Growing up on the East Coast, Hani experienced music from many cultures.

Lindley and Hani Naser make a convincing case for the essence of musical forms and in
the process they have produced an enduring testament to the timeless flexibility and
resonance of the Middle Eastern, Flamenco, Rock and Roll, Jazz and Blues forms."
Throughout his life, Hani has felt a wholeistic sense of musical experience that needed to
be expressed on a global level. "Exploring the spirit side of music has been a quest in life.
Hani is not bound by any musical traditions, but unites the music of the spheres and the
music of the soul." - LA Times During seven years of touring around the world as a duo
