Qatar Biography
Qatar, the name, was chosen after the Butler University Bulldogs played against the Qatar All-Stars in a basketball exhibition.
Qatar, the band, is comprised of four members. Adam Clutinger,24, an instrumental genius provides quirky lyrics and an incredible stage presence and flair. His use of trumpet, harmonica, and a banana shaker provides an excellent opportunity for the band to show their humorous side.
Cutler Armstrong,24, is a bass guitar and blues slide extraordinare. He provides the backbone of the band, the deep funk bass that provides the basis of the Qatar repertoire.
Josh Lingenfelter, 18, is the "prodigy" of the band. He bagan play guitar only a few years ago, but taught himself music the likes of Dave Matthews to Jimi Hendrix. Josh's songwriting took off in 1995 when he wrote his first song in eighth grade. That song, "the one she loves" went on to be a Southern Indiana hit and is now being worked into the Qatar repertoire.
Craig Stanley, 24, is the drummer of all drummers. His extensive knowledge of styles has led him to be one of the top drummers in the state. His intense playing never overshadows his musicality, allowing him to be a true member of the ensemble.
