Shondrae "Bangladesh" Crawford Biography

Shondrae, the Atlanta, Georgia by way of Des Moines, Iowa producer is fast becoming rap music’s next big thing. His unique synth heavy current hits 8Ball and MJG’s “You Don’t Want Drama” & “Don’t Make Me” and Petey Pablo’s single “Vibrate” are heating up airwaves and clubs from coast to coast. Though his name and signature “Bangladesh” sound bite may be new to some, Shondrae has been crafting platinum hits for years.

While working as a barber, Shondrae was also sharpening the production skills that would go on to make virtually unknown rappers into worldwide superstars. His big break came when an old classmate of his, Lil’ Fate of Disturbing the Peace fame, introduced Shondrae to a then unsigned Ludacris and the rest is history.

Over the next few years he went on to produce the lions share of Luda’s first two multi-platinum albums Back for the First Time and Word of Mouf including Luda’s first smash single “What’s Yo Fantasy,” “Ho,” “Stick em’ Up,” and “Go 2 Sleep.” He will also be contributing tracks to Ludacris’ upcoming album.

After a brief absence from collecting plaques Shondrae has returned bigger and better than ever before. With such a great influence from one of his musical idol Devante Swing of Jodeci it is no wonder that Shondrae has been broadened his scope to include R&B music as well by working with high-profile songwriters Pooh Bear and Sean Garrett of 112 and Usher fame. Shondrae also produced “Hotline” on Ciara’s Goodies LP, and is crafting new material for upcoming albums from Nivea, 112, Lloyd, Virgin Records group N2U and new Timbaland discovery Keri Hilson.

Not forgetting his Hip Hop roots Shondrae produced Disturbing The Peace femme fatale Shawnna’s rapid-fire banger “RPM” and “I Tried To Tell Ya” on Yung Wun’s Dirtiest Thirstiest album. His his trademark futuristic sound will also be heard on upcoming albums from E-40, Ma$e, Lil Scrappy and Bad Boy’s Chopper. In addition, “Mr. Bangladesh” is finishing up on his very own Gangsta Grillz mixtape and will soon be introducing the world to his first artist D.O. Deville.

Already known for getting other artists record deals via his beats, Shondrae also finds himself being suited by some of hip-hop’s biggest names. Swizz Beats has let it be known that he wants to sign Shondrae to his imprint Full Surface Records, while Sean “P. Diddy” Combs announced over Atlanta’s radio waves that he wants him to join his Bad Boy Empire. Shondrae has even caught the ears of music luminaries LA. Reid & Clive Davis.
