The 5 a.m. Event started out in Winnipeg, Manitoba, in the mid-'60s, working under the name the Crescendos, consisting of Glenn Macrae (vocals, harmonica), Terry Loeb (guitar), Dennis Penner (bass), and Vance Masters (drums).
