Black Heat was a short-lived '70s funk band that recorded briefly for Atlantic. Keyboardist Johnell Gray, guitarist Bradley Owens, bassist Chip Jones, and percussionist Raymond Green issued one LP for Atlantic with a roster of guest stars that included David "Fathead" Newman.
