US Grammy-winning jazz master Michael Brecker, 57, who played tenor for Paul Simon, Joni Mitchell, Steely Dan and Herbie Hancock, has died at 57, his official website said 14 January 2007. Brecker died 13 January of leukemia in a New York hospital, according to the site, which promised to post funeral arrangements.The Philadelphia-born saxophonist stood at the crux of 1970s and 1980s jazz-rock fusion.
