In 1980 Van released his debut album "China Girl" on a small record label. Then in 1984 he was signed to MCA Records where two albums were subsequntly made; "Righteous Anger" which contained his biggest hit "Modern Day Delilah", and then his last solo album "Suspicious Heart" was made in 1986. Since then, he moved back to Nashville where he is now in the country band BlackHawk.
