David Popper

Popper's father was a Kantor in Prague and David was given the opportunity to study with Goltermann. He became a renowned virtuoso cellist who played with both the Hellmesberger Quartet and Hubay Quartet during his performing career. In 1863 Popper went on a major tour meeting Bulow in Germany.
