    Biography

    Bassist Howard Rumsey initiated a jazz policy at the Lighthouse Café in Hermosa Beach, CA, in 1949. His Lighthouse All-Stars performed on a nightly basis and on Sundays, there was traditionally a 12-hour jam session.
