Forro is a type of popular music closely associated with the Brazilian working class. In addition to baiao, forro includes other dance styles from northeastern Brazil. Because of the prominence of the accordion and the influence of American blues, forro sounds a lot like American zydeco, another roots music style with strong ties to the working class. ~ Keith |
