All three are nominated for eight awards; other performers to be announced.
Mariah, Kanye, Legend to Perform at Grammys
Will he stage his own death? Announce that George Bush doesn't care about black people? Whatever Kanye West does onstage at the 48th annual Grammy Awards, it's sure to be memorable.West was among the first three performers confirmed by the Recording Academy's venerable awards shows. The others are comeback queen Mariah Carey and West's frequent collaborator, R&B/gospel singer John Legend. All three are nominated for eight awards apiece.
This year's Grammys will take place on Wednesday, Feb. 8 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. CBS will broadcast the awards live beginning at 8pm EST.
