3 Doors Down Singer Injured in Car Crash

Brad Arnold, frontman for popular rock band 3 Doors Down, is resting at home after a frightening car accident on the rural roads of Mississippi. His wife, Terika, lost control of their car while driving on a rain-slicked road, which sent the vehicle hydroplaning into a tree. Fortunately, no other vehicles were involved in the collision, and Arnold's wife walked away from the accident relatively unscathed.

The impact came on the passenger side, however, so Arnold did not fare as well. He received several severe lacerations and bruises to his face, and also required stitches in several locations. A plastic surgeon was brought in to reattach part of Arnold's ear, but the singer is expected to make a full recovery.

In a post attributed to Arnold on the band's message board, the singer urges his fans to buckle up: "The state trooper said that I should not be alive. If we both would not have had on our seat belts, we WOULD be dead."

In the meantime, 3 Doors Down was forced to cancel a performance at the Bud Bowl during Super Bowl festivities. The twelve-time platinum band -- can we get a quick timeout for 3 Doors Down selling twelve million records? -- is still scheduled to embark on a European tour in March, in support of their latest album, Seventeen Days. -- Adam McKibbin
