Guns N' Roses to Play New York
Hey, New Yorkers: That dull roar you hear is coming from all the Guns 'N Roses fans who just heard that Axl and company will be playing two dates in the Big Apple before heading off to play some big European festivals this summer. The shows -- the band's first American appearances in more than three years -- will take place May 15 and 17 at the Hammerstein Ballroom. Tickets go on sale April 21 and will set GNR fans back $63 a pop.
After the New York shows, the band will cross the Atlantic to play a series of 17 dates at various European festivals. The first, at Lisbon, Portugal's Rock in Rio, will take place on May 27; the band's final scheduled appearance is set for July 8 in Oslo, Norway at Spektrum.
GNR has been back in the news lately since tracks from the band's long-delayed Chinese Democracy album surfaced on the Internet earlier this year. Axl Rose promises the album will be released later this year, although no official date has been set.
