She's rolled with the punches, and now Melissa Etheridge has happy news to share with her fans: She's going to be a mama again. Etheridge's website announced that partner Tammy Lynn Michaels is expecting to give birth to twins this fall.

Etheridge, who has sold more than 25 million records, has become one of the leading ladies of breast cancer awareness. Nine months after a procedure to remove a malignant tumor in her breast, doctors advised that she was cancer-free. Bald from her chemotherapy treatments, she performed a heartfelt rendition of Janis Joplin's "Piece of my Heart" during the 2005 Grammy telecast. More recently, she has written the song "I Run For Life" to pay tribute to survivors.

Motherhood won't be a new avenue for the pop-rocker; Etheridge raised two girls with former partner Julie Cypher. Those children were famously fathered by David Crosby, but Mr. Crosby's test tube services were not deemed necessary this time around.

"To answer the obvious question: We used an anonymous donor from a bank," the statement on Etheridge's website reads. The "blessed couple" asks that fans refrain from sending any presents; incoming baby blankets and diaper bags will be promptly given to a local woman's shelter.

In other news, the singer has announced plans to come to your window this summer -- at least if you live in select cities. Almost 40 shows are on the board, including multiple nights in Chicago, New York City, and Lowell, Massachusetts.
