More Troubles For Keith Richards' Noggin

Gaze upon Keith Richards, kiddies, and let him be a cautionary tale to you all. Granted, it’s not quite the cautionary tale one may have expected from the iconic Rolling Stones guitarist -- his lungs or liver would seem riper candidates for causing trouble, but instead it’s Keef’s noggin that has him back in the hospital and bracing for a surgical operation to address a small brain hemorrhage.

The cause of this injury -- and here’s where the moral of the story comes in -- has been widely reported to have been an ill-advised, unprotected climbing trip up a tree with fellow Stone Ron Wood while the band soaked up the good life at an exclusive resort in Fiji. Reportedly on a quest for coconuts, Richards lost hold and took a tumble, cracking his head and complaining thereafter of dull headaches. Undeterred, the 62-year-old set off on a Jetski, but was said to have lost control and been tossed into the water. The initial diagnosis of a slight concussion was eventually replaced by the hemorrhage verdict; Richards, fortunately, is quite likely to make a full recovery.

Good thing, too, because the lazy days of coconut hunts won’t be lasting long; the Stones are set to take their Bigger Bang tour to Europe at the end of this month. The tour has already rolled through the States, South America, China, Australia and New Zealand.
