Stones Postpone Shows While Keith Heals

It turns out that the usually indestructible Keith Richards will need longer than expected to recover from a head injury he sustained while vacationing in Fiji last month. The Rolling Stones have officially postponed the first 15 dates of their European tour while their craggy guitarist convalesces.

The affected Stones shows include stops in Barcelona, Madrid, Brussels, Paris, Warsaw, Athens, Vienna, Milan and St. Petersburg. Scandinavia, Croatia, and the Czech Republic will also have to wait a little longer for their dose of the Glimmer Twins. The band plans to announce makeup dates, which will begin in July, within the next several days.

Richards, 62, is resting at home in the United States after undergoing surgery in New Zealand to relieve pressure on his skull from a blood clot that formed as a result of the head injury. The injury was originally reported to be either the result of a fall from a coconut tree, a Jetski accident, or both. According to the Stones' official website, Keef "is feeling great, happy to be home and looking forward to getting back on the road with the Rolling Stones next month."
