The disgraced glam rocker will try to avoid jail time in Vietnam for child molestation.
Glitter Gets Appeal
Just as his hit "Rock and Roll" had a part two, Gary Glitter's child molestation trial in Vietnam returns to the courtroom for another round on June 15. That's when the 62-year-old glam rocker will appeal the three-year sentence he received on March 3 for allegedly committing "obscene acts" with two girls ages 10 and 11 in the Vietnamese resort town of Vung Tau last year.Glitter, whose other '70s hits included "Do You Wanna Touch Me" and "I'm the Leader of the Gang," has been in a Vietnamese prison since he was originally charged last November. He has maintained his innocence throughout, insisting that he is the victim of a smear campaign by the British tabloids.
The one-day appeals trial will take place at the People's Supreme Court of Appeals in Ho Chi Minh City.
