Rolling Stones Release Revamped Euro Tour Schedule

Rolling Stones guitarist Keith Richards is on the mend, and the band has announced newly rescheduled dates for a number of previously canceled gigs. Their revamped European tour will begin in Milan, Italy on July 11, and then take their Bigger Bang show through 21 stadiums spread out across 11 countries. This leg of the tour had previously been set to start on May 27, and there are still ten original dates that have not been rescheduled. Several of those dates may be moved into 2007, as the Stones have a U.S. tour set for the fall.

Richards feels bad about all this, but he's not one to dwell or sulk. "Excuse me, I fell off my perch!" he said in a statement. "Sorry to disrupt everyone's plans but now -- it's full steam ahead! Ouch!"

There is still an air of mystery around the exact nature of the injury, with various reports saying that Richards fell out of a tree while picking coconuts, fell from a water ski, or perhaps a combination of two. After surgery in New Zealand to relieve pressure in his skull, Richards has made a "complete recovery" in his Connecticut home.

As previously reported, the Stones recently came under fire from feisty Pink Floyd guitarist David Gilmour, and now The Eagles' Don Henley has joined the grandfatherly bickering, accusing the Stones of exploiting their name and overcharging their fans. Richards and his bandmates have so far refrained from firing back.
