*NSYNC's Lance Bass Reveals He's Gay

*NSYNC member Lance Bass has finally ended years of speculation by admitting he's gay, and doing it the way any self-respecting ex-boy band member should -- by announcing it in the pages of People magazine.

In the magazine's August 3rd cover story, Bass talks candidly about his relationship with gay-rights activist and Amazing Race winner Reichen Lehmkuhl, and says he's "more liberated and happy than I've been my whole life." He also explains that the only reason he didn't come out sooner was because he didn't want to detract from *NSYNC's mainstream success. "I had four other guys' careers in my hand, and I knew that if I ever acted on it or even said [that I was gay], it would overpower everything," Bass explains.

Next up for Bass is a pilot for a sitcom/reality TV hybrid inspired by the classic film and TV series The Odd Couple. Tentatively titled Out of Sync, it will pair Bass with former *NSYNC bandmate Joey Fatone, playing two roommates with conflicting living habits. And yes, Bass' character will be gay.
