Prince Getting Divorced

And you thought having babies was trendy. Prince joins the growing ranks of musical celebrities taking the plunge back into single life, and here's the kicker: The divorce papers were filed before His Purpleness even knew that Carmen Electra was back on the market.

The Minneapolis Star Tribune, Prince's hometown newpaper, obtained court documents this week confirming that the Purple Rain hitmaker's wife of five years, Manuela Testolini Nelson, filed for divorce on May 24. Testolini Nelson, a 29-year-old entrepreneur who owns a production company and a line of designer candles, met her future husband while doing charitable work for his Paisley Park record company. They were married in a Jehovah's Witness ceremony in 2001.

For Prince, it's his second divorce. His first marriage, to backup singer-dancer Mayte Garcia, was annulled in 1998 after just two years.
