Kate Hudson Flies From the Crowe's Nest

It's been a long, tough summer for rock stars, who seem to be losing their hot wives at a record pace. First Carmen Electra divorced Dave Navarro; then we heard that former Miss U.S.A. Shanna Moakler was ditching her hubby, blink-182's Travis Barker; now, it's time for the Black Crowes' Chris Robinson to join the list. He and his wife of six years, actress Kate Hudson, are separating, according to Hudson's publicist, Brad Cafarelli.

Unlike the previous two divorces, which involved couples who paraded themselves on MTV reality shows, this one is harder for snide entertainment websites like ours to make fun of. Hudson and Robinson have a two-year-old son, Ryder Russell Robinson, and looked for many years like one of those rare celebrity couples that had a pretty solid relationship, especially when they stuck it out even while Robinson's attempt at a solo career sputtered.

Currently, no more details have emerged as to who initiated the separation or why. A representative for Chris Robinson offered no comment on the situation.
